She actually finished another painting!

Orange Slice, 13 x 13 inches, soft pastel on paper.

At long last. I needed a break, but this was getting ridiculous. I had a lot of fun with this one; now I'm dying to do more.

It looks a lot better on a white background; click the image to pop it out.

Finally, I can ship all the pieces for my May 30 show.

  1. Beautiful, KIm. You are a master at glass. Is this the show in MA?

  2. This is just beautiful! I love the way you handled the light coming through the orange slice and the reflections of light on the bowl.

  3. Thanks, Pat. Yes, it's in Williamstown. Email me your address and I'll send you an invitation.

  4. Thank you, Deborah. This one was a lot of fun to paint. The wonderful light is the midday sun through my kitchen window. The light here is amazing!

  5. Realy nice glass, and that orange slice just glows!

  6. Gorgeous! Love the "fling" of the light.

  7. Amazing Kim!

The yellows, oranges, whites, and blacks....the color combinations are just striking together!

Excellent job capturing the translucent quality of the orange slices and the highlights on the bowl. Not an easy thing to do!

This looks like an oil painting. Hard to believe this is done in pastels!

    Just amazing!

  8. Wonderful glass Denise. Just love pastels.

  9. OMG - I love your work Kim! I would love to hear what you ahve to say if you try velour paper after seeing your work. I'm going back for more browsing of your blog ;-) Thanks for stopping by mine!
